For most people I know, voting tomorrow be the first time in their lives they will be able to make such a big, national, decision.
But how many people will actually go and vote? I think it is an outrage that people will abuse their right, in the democracy that millions have died to protect, and not vote.
For those who say their vote won't count, how do you know this? In the closest election in a generation it seems anyone can come out on top. That is, in overall votes. The archaic, flawed electoral system our country has means the party that finishes third in overall votes can still win the election due to the amount of seats in the houses they possess. All this talk from the three main leaders about 'voting tactically' is nonsense.
It seems instead of focussing on what their party can offer, the leaders are parading round, pleading for votes because they say we wouldn’t want to see the other parties in power. It seems a very childish act to dismiss the opportunity to discuss policies in favour of a game of one-upmanship.
I urge people to go out and vote, whoever it is for, but for reasons of your own, not just because you’ve been told to so the other party won’t get in.
Let’s get this done and next week we can all reunite in bashing the BNP.
First time in 34 years I'm not voting for the Labour party. Lib Dems for me!
